Identity Collage Portrait

I am a mix of multiple races and cultures. I am Chinese, Japanese, Hawaiian, Irish, and Scottish. So, I made a collage of all the representations of my culture in a portrait. This is one large, printed work and it focuses on the idea of Identity. Because of my love for illustration and photography, I created an approach that appears as if I have illustrations or tattoos all over my body. To make a decorative portrait, I took individual images of objects in my house that represent my cultures. For example, I used items like a plumeria, food dishes, lucky cats, etc. Then I photoshopped them out and edited the images to be only in black and white. To make the images blend into my skin, I used blending modes.
